Be Convinced

Whenever the subject comes up, I give my health advice.  Unfortunately, the message is hard for people to accept, because it's that most of what is conventional or popular is wrong.  I myself would have had a difficult time accepting the concept if I was the hearer without any crisis to drive me to take the matter seriously.  So here are the things I address when trying to convince people to take this matter seriously.

We make erroneous assumptions about what is normal or healthy:

1.  We assume that government regulations prohibit unsafe products from being available in the marketplace.  But in reality, while certain government standards are indeed correct, there are numerous standards that are horribly wrong, resulting in toxic stuff being the rule, not the exception, in the food marketplace.

2.  We assume that medical experts are correct in their understanding and advice about food and health.  But the reality is, medical schools teach almost nothing about nutrition, and their treatment concepts primarily focus on prescribing drugs, utterly ignoring the power of nutrition.  So a medical degree is not a valid credential for advising on nutrition or general health.  If you have an emergency, you need a doctor.  But if you have a chronic condition, you're not likely to get a real cure from a doctor, because what you really need is JUNK-FREE, PROPER NUTRITION, a concept outside the typical, rigid medical bubble.

3.  We assume that foods that are popular in the culture, or that are part of our family background, are normal.  But there is no connection between popular or familiar food habits and healthy nutrition.  The average person is not likely to be correctly knowledgeable about nutrition, or about the defective state of the food industry, medical industry, and government regulations, because it takes uncommon motivation, and uncommon diligent analysis, to discover the truth.

4.  We assume things couldn't possibly be so bad, or that someone in charge is overseeing things.  But they are that bad, and NO ONE IS IN CHARGE.  So over time, inventions of highly processed foods, for convenience and profit, are constantly being developed and popularized, perpetually driving an arbitrary evolution in the wrong direction.  So our modern popular food supply and dietary habits are shockingly unhealthy, and getting worse all the time; in fact in just the past 20 years it has gotten much, much worse.  It so happens that all the alarmists, whether rational people on the one hand, or raving radical ideologues on the other hand, all happen to be correct, their complaints and accusations are generally true, because the evidence is plain to anyone who diligently investigates.  It's worse out there than we thought, or want to believe.  We also face the challenge of needing to overcome the personal bias of avoiding admitting we've been led astray or used bad judgment; we just need to let the objective truth change our minds, even radically.

5.  We assume that if we feel fine, there is no risk or crisis.  So if you are not faced with an immediate health crisis, you may not be motivated to take this seriously.  But the negative effects have reached a crisis point.  The incidence of chronic diseases is going through the roof, and affecting people at younger and younger ages, all because our junk food is literally killing us.  Statistically, you have a very high chance of being a victim; in fact you probably already are and don't even know it.  In particular, here are some alarming facts about the two diseases that are the most common and most deadly:  The #1 killer, heart disease, is already underway by adolescence, and the #2 killer, cancer, takes years to grow large enough to be symptomatic or detectable.  So even if you don't feel bad, something could be happening undetected.  Diet and lifestyle are the most significant factors in the cause or cure of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, auto-immune diseases, neurological disorders, and of course obesity.  But even if you are never a victim, the benefits of a radically different, healthy diet and lifestyle are numerous.  If you try it, and experience the difference, and especially if you learn the ugly truth about the popular junk, you won't want to go back, and you'll wish you knew these facts earlier.
